“50 Cent: Blood on the Sand” is the name of 50 Cent’s second video game due to be released this fall by Vivendi Game Sierra label. In an interview for MTV News on Wednesday, the rapper said that he was inspired by his son and by Leonardo Di Caprio’s movie ‘Blood Diamond.” Furthermore, 50 promises that this second game will be way better than the first one called “50 Cent: Bulletproof” which only grossed $31 million.
David Kim, Sierra’s marketing veep explained why they decided to make the second game: “The research showed that there is definitely interest in a second game. We’re trying to work on improving the game quality,” he said according to Variety.
50 Cent told MTV that “Blood on the Sand” is more realistic than “Bulletproof”: “I think for entertainment purposes it’s better to do something like that than to make it feel like it’s totally real. Because you’ve got some people out there, people that should be in Creedmor [psychiatric facility] that are still on the street. They can’t decipher between entertainment and reality, so you gotta make it a little more out-there.”
Still, the rapper also revealed the fact that he is not a great video game player, but out of love for his son he started playing them just to make the little boy satisfied for beating his father: “My son is crazy about them, so he sits and plays them all day. I’ll play with him … he beats me at those games. He likes to bring me around so he can beat me.” And that’s not all: 50 Cent’s son made him realize where the pleasure of playing these games comes from.
“His judgment sets a strong impression on me. It almost simplifies things. A lot of the stuff that might come into play when I’m choosing what I would actually do doesn’t matter to him. He just wants to have fun,” 50 told MTV.
“Blood in the Sand “will have new songs from 50 Cent and G Unit. After seeing his son turning off the game’s volume and turning on the music, the rapper decided that good music is compulsory for a successful video game.
