My album is still hot despite 18 cuts

Despite 18 cuts by the censor board, singer-cum-actress Sherlyn Chopra has said her latest music video album, “Dard-e-Sherlyn”, it is “still hot”.

“My album is still hot and I am happy that the video will now be shown even on children channels after it was censored, ” she told reporters here after launching the new album at a city hotel on Monday.

“Dard-e-Sherlyn” is her second music album after “Outrageous”. “The album is my way of portraying pain, ” she said adding that “portrayals change with the change in era”.

“This is the 21st century and girls do not shy away. My album reflects my style of doing things, ” she said talking about the theme of the album.

The singer, however, rued that choreography in the video was disturbed because of the 18 cuts. “I would have been happier if it had been passed without any cuts, ” said Chopra, who has bagged a role in an upcoming Yash Raj film alongside Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee.

She made her intentions clear of becoming the next Bollywood bombshell, while claiming that she is not competing with other hotbods like Mallika Sherawat and Bipasa Basu.

I’ll do item song only for SRK

Malaika Arora and her husband Arbaaz Khan celebrated their 10th marriage anniversary.

“I don’t know how these ten years have passed. It’s been so unreal, such a dream!” sighs Mrs Khan.

“How do we manage to avoid all temptation? I guess there’s an angel watching over our marriage. Arbaaz and I make a conscious effort to share domestic responsibilities.

When I’m out working he looks after our son. Without a doubt our baby is our top priority. Any the work I do has to center on his schedules.”

She has just done her a first film with her husband. “It’s a marital comedy called Shaadi Ke After-effects. I’m not Arbaaz’s wife in the film. I play the temptress and I’ve an item song with him.

It was great fun working with Arbaaz. Now I want to do a full-fledged film with him. I want to do a comedy with my husband. So far no aspect of talent has been tapped except my dancing.”

Now Malaika will be extremely cautious about the item songs.

“But if tomorrow a Farah Khan tells me to do a song with Shah Rukh, of course I’ll do it. But it has to be something worth my while. It’s always been nothing but the best for me.”

“My songs in Jannat are not completely original” - Pritam

Files under Gossips, Music | Leave a Comment

Pritam never denies his sources of inspiration. Whether it is the successful songs in Awaraapan or Race, he accepts the inspirational charges with grace. But the charge that the chartbuster ‘Yeh Ishq Haaye Jannat Dikhaye‘ in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met is ripped off from Indonesian singer Anggun’s French number ‘Etre une femme‘ has the habitually-calm composer frothing in indignance.

“I’ve never denied the sources for my songs. So why should I deny it now? But the fact is, I had never heard Anggun’s song when I composed the song in Jab We Met. I don’t know the song myself. My friend who’s a keyboard player had the groove programmed. I liked the groove and I composed my tune on it. I composed the song in front of so many people. I can guarantee the melody isn’t anyone’s but my own. I must admit the groove is similar to the one in my song. But that’s it. And too to is totally unintentional. Not a note in the rest of my song sounds like Anggun’s tune. And if anyone can prove I’ve copied her song I’m ready to stop composing songs forever.
